Eric Lund began designing lighting in 1984 with a musical about the Toxteth riots called Why? which looked like it was destined to take the world by storm but didn’t. Nevertheless, he stuck with it and still enjoys designing for new work, recently, for instance, working on a new musical by Lawrence Mark Whyte called The Lost Christmas.
Dance and drama have also taken a large part in his life and work, including working on all styles of dance from ballet to Bollywood via everything in between. Eric has designed for dramas from Shakespeare to Pinter, always enjoying working closely with the director to create a thoughtful and appropriate interpretation of the piece.
Eric has worked throughout the UK but is currently based in Kent. Previously he spent time in the Midlands, where he taught Lighting Design at a college. Indeed, he still offers lighting design training to groups or individuals. Contact Eric for more details.
Eric Lund Lighting Design has been active in London venues including the Shaw Theatre and Jermyn Street Theatre as well as working on national tours.
